Why dry needling?
Dry needling is an excellent treatment modality for addressing pain and trigger points.
What is dry needling?
Dry needling is a technique used to treat trigger points throughout the body. Dry needling involves a thin filiform needle that penetrates the skin and stimulates the release of trigger points. The needles allow us to target tissue that is not manually palpable through the skin. The release of trigger points allows a patient to have less pain, improves mobility and speeds up a patient’s recovery time.
What to expect?
During your dry needling procedure session, Dr. Brooke will identify sources of your pain. After identifying those areas, she will insert a thin, sterile needle into the skin to shut down your muscular trigger points. Most patients feel little or no pain as the needle is inserted.
